Leveraging waste into sustainable farming!

On November 13th, 2024, farmers and technicians from Parma, Italy, learned about compost tea - an eco-friendly liquid made out of compost that can be used for bio stimulation, protection and nutrition of the crops. This training - led by experts from the Stuard Farm and CREA and coordinated by the implementing partners of the Nestlé Responsible Sourcing Program for Vegetables and Spices showcased a great example of circular economy applied to agriculture, transforming agricultural and livestock waste into valuable nutrients.

Buoli Attilio, a famer from Cremona, shared: "Microorganic nutrients in the compost tea are great for activating and revitalizing sterile or poor soil, and for integrating defense, given the progressive reduction of authorized active substances."
